ShareMail vs Hiver
Hiver and ShareMail solve the same first problem, a team answering one Gmail address, and then go opposite ways. Hiver has become an AI support platform with a help centre, SLAs and voice. We stayed a shared inbox and priced it like one.
What Hiver does well
- Also lives inside Gmail, so the learning curve is just as short
- A real helpdesk feature set: SLAs, CSAT surveys, customer portal, help centre, analytics
- Voice as an add-on if you want phone support in the same tool
Their pricing, as published
Hiver in Gmail: Growth $25/user/mo, Pro $55, Elite $85, billed annually. API access starts at Pro; SSO, HIPAA and custom roles at Elite. AI agents are included across plans and are the headline of every tier.

| Where your email lives | In your Gmail. ShareMail is a layer on top and never becomes the system of record | Stays in Gmail. Hiver is a layer too |
| Mail delivery path | Untouched. Gmail sends and receives, we never sit in the path | Hiver sends through its own infrastructure |
| If you leave | Disconnect. Your mail is already in Gmail; comments, tags and assignments export in full | Export what their plan allows, then migrate |
Hiver column: their published pricing and documentation, read September 2026 (source). Pricing and packaging change, so verify current terms with Hiver directly before you decide. ShareMail's column describes the product as it runs today plus the commitments in our pledge; anything not yet shipped says so. Hiver, like us, leaves your mail in Gmail, so that architecture argument is not a difference between us. The differences are price, and how much product you are made to buy.
Choose Hiver if…
You want a full helpdesk (SLAs, CSAT, a customer portal, phone) and you want it inside Gmail. Hiver does that; we deliberately do not.
Choose ShareMail if…
Your team answers email out of Gmail, you want comments, assignments, shared drafts and rules on top of it, and you would rather not pay per seat for a platform, or for AI you did not ask for. The whole inbox is on every plan, from $6 a seat.
